Sunday 8th March, 10-4pm at Brooking Church with Hebrew Priestess, Sara Moon, and Rev Sam
Sara and Sam are delighted to share another Jewish and Christian collaboration for International Women’s Day 2026. This day retreat is open to people of all genders.
Once again we are drawing inspiration and strength from wild and wonderful Biblical women. This year Sara will introduce us to Esther, a central figure in the story read at the festival of Purim, which for 5786/2026 is celebrated from 13-14 Adar/March 2-3.
After a ‘bring and share’ or packed lunch, Sam will share her love of female prophets, with a special focus on Mary Magdalene, acknowledging both her Jewish beginnings and touching into some of the recent research from Christian contexts.
Booking essential for this interfaith retreat day – please contact Sam. You are welcome to attend either a half or the full day. Please come dressed for the outdoors, with sturdy, warm footwear & waterproof layers. Depending on the weather we may have a campfire (please bring a log, if possible) and the afternoon may be shortened, if it is wet & cold.
Brooking Church is beautiful but it’s also chilly! So wear many layers & bring a blanket & a hot water bottle. Hot drinks & snacks are provided. You may like to bring your journal or sketch pad, as there will be time for quiet reflection with both the morning & afternoon. We will be creating a peace altar together, so you may also like to bring something to add to this.
Offered on a donation basis, with suggested amounts of £60 (supporters), £40 (standard) and £20 (supported). Please be generous as we have no other funding except your donations – thank you!
