Happy Christmas! |
Our various festive season plans here at Bonehill had to give way to some serious outer and inner weather. Rather than running a midwinter retreat, we simply had to go into a midwinter retreat as the Bonehill road became impassable due to ice and snow. Happily our Solstice Celebration went ahead on an enjoyably intimate scale… as only our immediate neighbours were able to join us, by virtue of nipping over the garden wall! Adults and children had a wonderful walk into the snowy moors as the dusk was falling… a memorable and magical occasion.
At Christmas we worked our way through the complications of being an extended family through a mixture of happy times and terrible rows…as someone (possibly Homer Simpson?!) once said, it just isn’t Christmas without a good row. On a simpler note, our unexpected white Christmas was very beautiful as you can see from the picture opposite of the Bonehill garden, with its snowy moorland views. Tam built a snow dog and he and Ian discovered just how quickly one can travel by sledge from Bonehill rocks to home…
