Calling all celtic circlers, kabbalists, living spirits and friends! Here is a rather late in the day invitation to silence, stillness, study…and celebration! Firstly, a warm welcome awaits anyone wanting to join the Kabbalah group on Thursday 17th December for an esoteric exploration of Christmas. Then on Sunday 20th December I’ll be lightly facilitating a midwinter retreat at Bonehill, betweem 11am and 3pm. (Yes, you can still have a lie in… and get home before dark!)
The main menu for the day will be meditation, with a blend of guidance, simple silence and time for reflection and discussion. The morning should suit the pagans amongst us as we journey within to the Sacred Grove. Then after a bring and share lunch, we’ll make a meditative exploration of the Nativity. It’s a sad fact that many of us struggle with Christmas…it can be a lonely time or one loaded with painful memories…or  just too busy, too expensive and too demanding. So why not step back from these inner or outer pressures and take some time to rediscover the deep magic of Midwinter and a new perspective on the spirituality of Christmas?

On the winter solstice, inspired by the celtic circle, Bonehill will be celebrating this still point of the turning year. From 3pm we’ll be walking out onto the moors and into the dark on this longest night. Those of us who make it back alive (just kidding!) will then be tucking into mince pies and mulled wine, before gathering around the Christmas tree to light candles, sing carols and celebrate the imminent arrival of the Sun/Son.
