Just to remind me that life running a retreat centre is rarely smooth, on the day before the Introduction to Kabbalah day, general chaos descended on Bonehill. The long awaited builder arrived, the aga was turned off and serviced and hurricane winds hit Dartmoor resulting in a power cut and blowing a large tree down over the drive. Suddenly simple tasks such as cooking soup for lunch and welcoming guests were not at all straightforward and our small band of intrepid Kabbalah students arrived to find they literally had to ‘climb the tree’ in order to start the day!

But while the winds raged outside, our small group was gathered peacefully in front of the fire for a day of study, meditation and a playful exercise drawing the Tree of Life which involved a lot of coloured pencils and laughter. Conversations ranged from St.Paul to transcendent sex! I think we all came to the end of the day with a renewed sense of connection to a ‘bigger picture’ and feeling inspired to learn and explore further.

The Devon Kabbalah Group’s fortnightly study group restarts this Thursday morning at 9.30am and is open to new members joining at any time. Do contact Joyce on 07890 806857 or 01647 221496 or email soundsofjoy@btopenworld.com for more information.
