We really were snowed in!

Arctic conditions continue here at Bonehill as we move on into 2010. In such circumstances it has been especially inspiring to see our guests’ commitment to spiritual work. The resourceful Ros trekked in for a week in our snow bound Hermitage and, while I was expecting to have to cancel our Twelfth Night/Epiphany Celtic Circle due to the freezing weather, other braver souls were ready to walk across the snowy moor for a somewhat ‘Arctic Circle’ meeting. When they finally emerged from their many layers of winter clothing, it was good to gather by the fire and reflect together on the inspirations and challenges of Christmas, drawing them into the light of consciousness of a new year. Thoughts circled around the nature of sacred celebration and how the magic ingredient is perhaps not the time or the place, but rather the sacred intention we bring. I like this thought, it reminds me that spirituality isn’t for special times or people or places….it’s the power of awareness and kindness that we can all practise at any time!
