Join me (Sam) on Sunday 13th September, 10-1pm (or so) for a special look at some of the remarkable their/her/history of our home base at beautiful Brooking Church.
Continuing our current ‘queering’ theme, I’ll be offering a contemplative glimpse of some of the characters who have made Brooking Church the sanctuary that it is today.
Expect to meet some fascinating stones, trees and even a few people – both living and dead. Brooking Church is unusual in that many of its prime movers have been women, including the remarkable Pinwill Sisters who created this eagle lectern.
As usual, this will be a flexible day, with tea served from 10am for a 10.30am start. We will continue until 1pm with the option to then stay on and enjoy some chat in the churchyard over lunch – please bring a packed lunch or food to share.
Offered on a donation basis: £40 – £20 suggested but you are equally welcome for a smaller amount or for barter (help with cleaning & graveyard gardening always needed – talk to Sam). Queer led and open to all.
