All welcome to drop in on Nov 30th for our Lost Species Vigil, from 3-5pm, at Brooking Church.
Wild Monastery and Wild Church have been observing Remembrance for Lost Species Day (30th November) every year for over a decade.
This year all are warmly welcome to drop in to our Vigil for endangered and extinct species, between 3-5pm at Brooking Church. We will have a particular focus on Devon Special Species.
As usual we will create our four ‘elemental altars’ dedicated to creatures of earth, water, air and fire. Come to contemplate, grieve and light candles for hope…
This will be a free, open event and yet donations are invited… These will be passed on to the charity Wild Fish who work to protect species such as our River Dart & Bidwell Brook salmon.
I (Sam) and others will be starting training next year, with the Bidwell Brook Partnership, to monitor the Bidwell Brook (which flows close to Brooking Church and is a tributary of the River Dart). More details here
