All welcome – just pitch up!
Donations to cover costs are much appreciated.
Wild Monastery and our Wild Church warmly invite you to this special contemplative service as we approach the Feast of Mary Magdalene (July 22nd). All are welcome to join in this blend of ancient tradition and contemporary innovation.
Join us in chanting ancient prayers, contemplating icons, lighting candles and wafting incense within a uniquely created liturgy (ceremony) to celebrate one of our most beloved matron saints, Mary Magdalene. Since we gathered last year, we now have a new shrine dedicated to Mary and St Barnabas, which will be blessed as part of this ceremony.
We draw inspiration from the 1549 Prayer Book Evensong & earlier material, in combination with inclusive, gender balanced and non hierarchical language. We embrace the beautiful music of both ancient and contemporary chants and touch into scriptural texts, including the Gospel of Mary Magdalene.
